new shifter

started off with a 1/2" piece of round stock,

a 5/16" bung & a pre made plate from teach.

i drilled the bung out to fit the 1/2" rod

then plug welded the rod inside the bung.

then i bent the rod so it will miss the coil.

& plug welded the rod/bung to the plate.

then i threaded the 1/2" rod end to 1/2-20.

added the shift knob & locking nut.

i will chrome it & add a hippy killer grip.

fatboy choppin'

so i was gonna change my fender

& seat for Sturgis.

but i'm not going this year (that's another story)

so i had to add some strut tabs on the axle plates,

drill a couple holes in the swing arm

to mount the fender.

the swing arm moves separately with the fender now.

then add a seat mount at the front

& make a plate for the rear seat mount,

that will also hold some of the electrical.

that was teh hard part,

there's lot's of electrical on this bike.

i'll send it out for paint & chrome soon...

chopping the Vulcan...

my buddy Rozz had a stock Suzuki Vulcan that he wanted to chop.

so he brought it over & we lost the struts & cleaned up the wiring under the seat.

then i made some seat mounts front & back.

i gave him one of my old fenders & i made struts to mount to the swing arm.

Rozz gave it a coat of satin black to match the tank he painted a couple years ago.

& there u go, Vulcan chopped !
